Empowering Winchburgh’s Growth: A Vital Role in Motorway Junction Development

At Niddry Bing, we take immense pride in our instrumental role as the primary aggregate supplier for the creation of a pivotal motorway junction in Winchburgh. This monumental endeavour has not only enabled the establishment of a critical motorway junction but it has also played a pivotal role in sculpting the future landscape of the region.

By providing in excess of 300,000 tons of essential class 1a infill material for the motorway junction, we have directly contributed to the unlocking of key expansion areas within Winchburgh. This strategic accessibility has paved the way for the development of a diverse range of housing options, catering to a variety of preferences and needs. In doing so, we have significantly bolstered the efforts of the West Lothian Council and aligned ourselves with national housing requirements.

We pushed our capabilities to the max and we pushed the boundaries of our machinery and operators, harnessing the skills of our dedicated team. Almost 4500 tons were hauled away from the bing every day, and we even set a record with a remarkable 5500 tons in just one shift (that’s roughly 275 loads in one day!).

Equally, our main haulier, John Lang & Sons, deserves a special mention for their exceptional performance. Delivering up to 27 loads per lorry each day, they’ve been an indispensable partner in this endeavor and we’re truly proud of their contribution. We would also like to extend a special thanks to our other Hauliers including Graham Developments Ltd, WM Russell & Sons Ltd, John McGeady Ltd, Skeoge Plant & Haulage Ltd, Murray Leslie Transport, TL Moffat and Thomsons.

At Niddry Bing, we are more than a aggregate supplier; we are catalysts for transformation, growth, and a brighter future. Join us in celebrating this significant milestone in Winchburgh’s evolution as we continue to champion innovation and progress in every project we undertake.
